Organic Flairs born in a mobile studio
Tomofon pack by Malva-Luma Brage
Meet Malva-Luma Brage, whom we ran into one day in Södermalm, Stockholm. Malva has been abroad working on creating sounds for several years but is now back home, living and working in her mobile home. We are captivated by her passion for sound art and exploration of sounds from their most fundamental essence.
She often draws from her immediate environment – whether it’s a vocal performance, the sound of her bathtub, the call of a bird, the clink of a bowl, a conversation, or the soft rustling of an evening breeze.
Working in a mobile studio
“A few months ago, I embarked on a journey of living, creating, and traveling full-time in my self-built van. This tiny space has become my mobile studio, and Organic Flairs was born here and inspired by the natural beauty I encounter daily. My "living room," "backyard," and "garden" are ever-changing landscapes, providing endless inspiration and materials sourced from the great outdoors.

Working from such a minimalist, mobile space has allowed me to discover a deep sense of focus and clarity, as well as a heightened connection to the ever-evolving sounds of nature around me. However, tasks that may seem simple in a traditional home—like cooking, showering, or setting up my studio—often require more time and planning. I’ve learned to be intentional with my time, carefully organising each day to balance creative work with the practical demands of van life.
Ultimately, I find my life simpler and more fulfilling now. The fewer material possessions I have to manage, the more joy I experience in everyday moments, and inspiration is a constant companion.”
The Creation of Organic Flairs
We gave Malva access to Tomofon and encouraged her to let her creativity flow. She began recording the nature around her with its water drips, ripples and streams, unpolished vocal elements, tonal metals, the cracking and striking of wood, birds, bees, and more.
With the fundamental flair of the authentic and organic she wanted to introduce additional layers of depth to each sound in Tomfon by embedding movement within the programming itself. Ultimately, the identity of each preset was shaped by three aspects: the sound source itself, the movement introduced through Tomofon, and the noisy artifacts reflecting the textures found in nature.
“The final pack evolved beyond my initial concept,” Malva tells us. “I particularly appreciate how Tomofon introduces movement into each piece of audio in the pack, offering an inspiring way to understand and interact with the samples.” Malva continues, "I hope anyone using the pack enjoys exploring the parameters further to reveal surprising characteristics that may not have surfaced in my original design.”
