OneShot Tips with Freja

A Day in the Studio with Freja the Dragon

Recently, we had the pleasure of spending a day with our friend Freja Drakenberg in her studio, where she showcased some of the ways she incorporates our new plug-in, OneShot, into her producing work. Apart from her successful solo project, Freja the Dragon, Freja also produces for other artists and tours as a musician with First Aid Kit.

Getting Creative with OneShot

After catching up on life over coffee, we dove into the studio to share our experiences with OneShot. While drum samples are the go-to for many when working with a sampler like OneShot, tonal instruments and sounds with short decays, such as the harp and kalimba make for beautiful instruments in OneShot. Freja shared her enthusiasm for building presets in OneShot using her own voice. In this video, Freja demonstrates how she uses OneShot to create a track inspired by the soundtrack of the TV series “White Lotus”.

Optimizing Workflow

Discussing workflow, we all emphasized the importance of having a structured approach to organizing drums and sample packs, which have become integral to modern-day music production. OneShot acts as a hub, allowing you to compile all your favorite sounds and kits in one place, streamlining your creative process and lets you build your own signature kits in an intuitive way.

Reviving Forgotten Samples

What about the countless samples and libraries gathering dust on our hard drives? Freja demonstrates how to breathe new life into old samples by importing them into OneShot and utilizing its onboard functionality to redesign them. In this video, she showcases how she uses OneShot's effects and envelopes to repurpose an old favorite sample of hers.

Our day in the studio with Freja left us inspired about the diverse use cases for OneShot. Be sure to check out her music on Spotify; it's truly beautiful!
